Myth & Truth

HI, I feel depressed and lack confidence in myself. Is there a way to be positive and feel confident about myself. Does the food i consume has anything to do with my thoughts. Please advise --By sathish

Positive is what you are already feeling about your future's goodness. Why do you believe against it and then ask what to do to have positive feeling. It is already there in your heart. There is no need for any confidence; just believe what your heart wants for you tomorrow.

balaji Never be worried for your inability to attend the meetings; just listen to your heart and abide by its command; every one's heart says it does not like to be agitated whatever be the situation prevailing outside of it; so does your heart says too to you. It is an ordinance on you- a beautiful command by the One Supreme Creative force. You do not have to take the strides on you. Prayerfully and confidently brush the problems aside and leave them with Him. Now things will take a new turn for the better and for the best in time, God Willing. .
How to rectify numbness in the legs without medicine and what type of care should be taken to get rid of this problem existing more than an year doctor. Hope your suggestions will regenerate me towards cure and confidence/Kamar --By A.Kamartheen

Normally we have heard the doctors saying that the numbness is due to lack of circulation; but it is not true for if you cut the affected part with a knife you will see a lot of bleeding; and so it is not due to lack of circulation, but due to improper oxygenation in the lungs when the blood reaches the lungs for oxygenation. The factors that disturb this function of the lungs are: hurried breathing due to stress; hasty breathing nasty thoughts; breathing in gasps due to anger; choking breathing due to constant worry and grief; or due to fear of tomorrow that causes trembling in the lungs resulting in the nervous breathing. All these are the real reasons for the numbness.
My child is sucking her thumb, when she feels sleepy & hungry. How to control this. Some people told me that children sucking their thumb due to insecured feeling, is it true or not? --By Anitha Sudhakar

Category: General, Children, Emotions, Women,
Children at the orphanages are more insecure than the children in their own homes; yet we do not find those children sucking their thumbs. We shall never buy others views at the cost of our own view point. Rather it is the mother's insecure feeling that the child does not care what you advise. My advise to you is just say to the child do not do this and worry not about it anymore. Just keep reminding the child not with worried and hard tone and look, but with a friendly gesture and gentle words. And over a period of time she will begin to understand and respect your concern. Keep saying and that is it. And stop worrying for nothing.

Latest Myth & Truth
Dear Dr Rahman, I am Sundar, Male 51 years, residing at Bangaliore. Ihappen to be a diabeticfor 13 years (poor control!) with a bit of BP and cholestrol. About 2 months back i had a viral infection with joints pain all over my body. The fever went away in a few days, but the joints pain continued. I was told by my GP that this would gradually go away in a few weeks/months. Took some ayurvedic supplements (suggested by the same allopath GP) Ten days later, the joints pain subsided, but my hands and feet became numb, with pricking pain. The GP attributed this to the viral infection and advised to take mecobalamin(B12) tablets/injection, and continued with more ayurvedic supplements.(Dhanavantri & Bruhat chintamani) Meanwhile i met a neurologist for a second assessment, and went through a 'motor nerve conduction test" and was diagnosed as: 1. predominantly motor polyneuroradiculopathy (mixed type) affecting lower and upper limb nerves 2. severe bilateral median neuropathy at the level of wrist consistent with bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome The neurologist said this was mostly due to the viral infection, but could be because of poor diabetes control(fast:190, PP:300) also. he added that there was no cure, and that the body would have to heal on its own. My numbness and pain has not subsided, am now trying homeopathy for a week for a cure. would request your assessment and advice, shall be able to come to Chennai for a personal consultation Thanks and have a good day! cordially, Sundar Ramanujam --By Sundar Ramanujam
